Bike tour Masurian Lakes guided

Masuria means nature out of an old storybook: black forests, smooth hills and old-fashioned villages. Thousands of bigger and smaller lakes spread all over the landscape and sparkle like jewels in the midst of the widespread forests. The Masurian Lake District is one of the most beautiful landscape area in Poland. A paradise for white storks. Eels, pikes, and perches swim in those lakes and the forest offers wolves, lynxes, raccoon dogs and so called polish horses a living space. The peacefulness in the huge primeval forest, the wide pasture land, the crystal clear lakes and rivers and the old-established alleys further engrave the landscape. The safeguard of the environmental heritage and the environment-friendly development are priorities and so far, five parks and numerous nature preserves established. Without a doubt, Masuria as the green lungs of Poland counts to the most precious bicycle and hiking regions in Europe

A bicycle tour is the most attractive and active form of the rest. Thanks to our offer, our guests can get to know and enjoy the great hospitality of the inhabitants in this region. With our help you will discover the magic of Masuria with its hidden mystical edges.

Detailed itinerary

Schedule

Individual arrival in Warsaw and reception by our tour guide. Meeting point at 7:30 p.m. at the starting hotel in Warsaw.

Evening at leisure in Warsaw. Overnight stay at the 3* starting hotel in the center of Warsaw.

After breakfast, a city tour of Warsaw includes sights such as the Old Town, Lazienki Park, and the vibrant city center. At 12:00, a bus transfer to Masuria (approx. 200 km) takes you to the city center (4 hours).

The first break in the Masurian District is in a picturesque place in the middle of the Puszcza Piska Forest by the birth house of a masurian writer Ernst Wiechert. From the village Piersławek You begin a bike tour and go to Krutyń.

Dinner and accommodation in Krutyń. The family hotel has a very good location – picturesque and quiet hotel welcomes us with the friendliness of owners and very good food. All rooms are clean and have shower and toilet in the room.

After breakfast a bike tour through the Puszcza Piska Forest. This is the biggest forest in the Masurian Lake District. Among the pine and spruce trees live a lot of animals like deer, elks, roe deer, wild boars, hares and foxes. For lunch there is a possibility to have a break in the summer resort Ruciane Nida.

In the afternoon we bike through the masurian villages to Wojnowo. We visit the monastery of the Old Believers and the Russian Orthodox church there. Dinner and accommodation in Krutyń.

In the morning a kayak tour on the most popular and prettiest natural river in Masuria, the Krutynia. You paddle from Krutyń on the Kruttina River to the village Rosocha. On the way we admire one of the most beautiful part of this trip: pure water, which reflects the undisturbed landscape, there are fish and birds, especially many kingfishers. Nature lovers are always excited by this field.

In the afternoon you bike through the masurian landscape park to Mikołajki. The landscape park with its lovely forests, glacial landscapes and many lakes is a real pearl of the former East Prussia. Biking on the good forest paths and narrow roads we reach a research station for beavers and small polish horses. After visiting the station we go further by bike to Mikołajki.

The next two overnights we spend in a hotel beautifully located by a lake near Mikołajki. Dinner and accommodation in the typical, nice hotel near Mikołajki.

Today’s bike tour takes us along the Masurian Lakes around Mikołajki. In the morning a boat trip on the White Fleet ship from Mikołajki to Ryn. A boat trip full of scenic impressions awaits us on the northern part of the longest channel lake in Poland. We end our boat trip at the foot of the historic crusader castle in Ryn.

In the afternoon a bike ride through picturesque villages and the Masurian canals. Then relax in Nikolaiken. City stroll and coffee break.

Dinner and accommodation in the typical hotel near Mikołajki. After dinner a bonfire with music.

After breakfast, a short transfer by bus from Mikołajki to the Wolf’s Lair—Hitler’s former headquarters in East Prussia (sightseeing). Then we cycle to Kętrzyn for a stroll through the town. Optional lunch break at the castle.

In the afternoon we bike to Nakomiady, where we visit a tiled stove factory and a spacious park. The tour continues to the 3* lakeside hotel in Mrągowo. Dinner and overnight stay in a beautiful lakeside hotel in Mrągowo.

This day was actually meant to be called “Back to the Past.” There are still remote areas in Masuria that take us back to the 19th century. You’ll bike through a quiet and secluded area and experience pure nature.

In the afternoon, we visit the Protestant church in Sorkwity. Then, continue your bike ride through the stork village of Gązwa. Dinner and overnight stay in Mrągowo. Overnight stay in a beautiful lakeside hotel in Mrągowo.

In the morning, we bike to Swieta Lipka (Holy Linden), home to a beautiful Baroque church. During the guided tour, we also listen to an organ concert. From Swieta Lipka, we continue to the ancient Masurian town of Reszel, where we visit the mighty church and have an optional lunch.

In the afternoon, a bus transfer from Reszel to Warsaw. A farewell dinner together at a restaurant in Warsaw. The final overnight stay is in a 3* hotel in central Warsaw.

Breakfast at the hotel. Return home or individual extension of the stay in Warsaw.
